Notice of Organizational Name Change

As disclosed by Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. on November 27, 2025, as the link below*, effective January 1, 2026, the Power Transmission & Control (PTC) Division of the Mechatronics Segment will change its organizational name.

The details are as follows:

1. Change of Organizational Name
Effective January 1, 2026, the organizational name will change as follows:
•    Current Name: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. Mechatronics Segment, PTC Division
•    New Name: Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. Mechatronics Segment, Drive Technologies SBU
The abbreviation DT-SBU will be used.

2. Background of the Name Change
In January 2023, Sumitomo Heavy Industries established four segment organizations company-wide (Mechatronics Segment, Industrial Machinery Segment, Logistics & Construction Segment, and Energy & Lifeline Segment) to strengthen functions and enhance competitiveness. To achieve this, we abolished the previous divisional system and launched Strategic Business Unit (SBU) organizations across the company to create value based on market needs. This name change reflects that initiative.

3. Organizational Structure of “Drive Technologies SBU”
There will be no major changes to the organizational structure of our sales, service, and manufacturing departments compared to the former PTC Division. Addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses will remain unchanged.

4. Scope of the Name Change
Starting January 1, 2026, contracts, company-issued documents, and our website will gradually reflect the new organizational name. Details regarding changes will be communicated individually by the relevant departments in Japan and overseas.
